Nearly 1,000 students earning bachelor’s and master’s degrees participated in Iona College’s 74th Annual commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 19, in the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Nancy Lublin, social media entrepreneur, founder and
CEO of Crisis Text Line and CEO of DoSomething.org gave keynote remarks at the undergraduate ceremony. Lublin encouraged graduates to persist and have faith in themselves.
Kate Snow, anchor of “NBC Nightly News” on Sundays and award-winning senior national correspondent for NBC News, was the keynote speaker for the graduate ceremony. She urged graduates to seek out opportunities in life they could learn from.
Gabriella DiDomizio ’18, an exceptional Iona student and athlete, presented the valedictory address at the 2018 Honors Convocation.
Speakers Nancy Lublin and Kate Snow and alumnus Jeremiah M. Callaghan ’65, an outstanding business leader and philanthropist, were honored with the degree of Doctor of Humane Letters.
