Tripta Velamoor

EXPERIENCE: Over 15 years of clinical experience as an occupational therapist in a number of practice settings including hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, home care and schools.

BEFORE IONA: Velamoor was the board-appointed occupational therapy coordinator for Mamaroneck UFSD. In this leadership role, she collaborated with administration to oversee the provision of OT services throughout the school district. She is also certified through RESNA as an assistive technology practitioner and was an assistive technology evaluator for the New York City Department of Education.

Michele Morgante

EXPERIENCE: Over 20 years of clinical experience working in a variety of practice settings including inpatient and outpatient adult rehabilitation, home care (early intervention, school-aged and adult), sensory gyms, and school-based settings (private preschools, general education and private non-for-profit).

BEFORE IONA: In her most recent role, Dr. Morgante helped develop and implement a sensory-based occupational therapy program in a private, not-for-profit special education school. The focus of Dr. Morganteā€™s doctoral studies was related to the development of inclusive middle school communities. She studied special education studentsā€™ perceptions of the degree of support that they received from their teachers and the impact of that support on their school experience.
