Iona University honored distinguished alumni at its annual Trustees Scholarship Award Gala on April 25, 2024, at Cipriani 42nd Street, NYC. Proceeds from the Gala support student success at the University. This event celebrates Iona’s commitment to service and scholarship, recognizing individuals who embody our mission of transforming lives through education. This year, the Iona Legacy Award was presented to Monica L. ’70 and John C. ’71 Judge, Edward R. McNally Jr. ’78, and Robert J. DeLuccia ’67, ’79MBA.
Monica has been active with the Iona Alumni Association for over twenty years, serving as vice president and president. John, co-founder of Coaches Cure CF, has been on the Board of Trustees since 2013. In addition to being loyal Iona supporters, the Judge’s are active in the Greater New Jersey Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
With a career spanning over 40 years, Ed has held key roles at Omnicom Group and endowed the McNally Family Scholarship at Iona in 1999. He also serves on the Advancement Committee of the Iona Board of Trustees and mentors at the Hynes Institute.
Bob is the executive chairman of Acurx Pharmaceuticals, which he co-founded in 2017 and took public in 2021. He serves on the Advisory Board of the NewYork-Presbyterian Iona School of Health Sciences and mentors in the Gaels Go Further Mentoring Programs.
