Prestigious Clare Boothe Luce Awards

Recognize Research of Female Undergrads

The Clare Boothe Luce (CBL) Awards, which recognize the accomplishments of a group of women undergraduates in computer science, mathematical sciences or physical science, have become one of the single most significant sources of private support for women in science, math and engineering in the United States. So it was with great pride that Iona announced the selection of seven outstanding students as awardees.

The CBL research awards provide exceptional undergraduates with the opportunity to deepen their education by working on an advanced research project with a faculty research mentor. “The technology sector—especially with software engineering, social media, and online businesses in so many parts of the world—is booming, and I think that being a part of those developments would be quite wonderful for me,” shared awardee Althea Chokwe ’22.
