Lauren Kahn has been named the third head coach in Iona College women’s lacrosse history. Kahn joins the Gaels following five seasons at Columbia University.
“We are delighted to have Lauren join Gael Nation,” said director of Athletics Matthew Glovaski. “Lauren comes equipped with a strong body of work experience and success from her time at Columbia and we are thrilled to have her take over at the helm of our women’s lacrosse program.”
“It is with great enthusiasm and excitement that I take on the position of women’s lacrosse head coach at Iona College,” said Kahn. “I look forward to becoming a huge part of the Iona community and I am excited to start working with this outstanding and dedicated group of young women. Lacrosse has been my passion for many years. Helping student-athletes achieve both academic and athletic success is something that I strongly believe in. I look forward to bringing these values to our program.”
Kahn comes to New Rochelle after five strong seasons with the Lions, where she was instrumental to the program’s constant development. In 2018, Columbia made the Ivy League Championship for the first time in program history.
A 2014 graduate of the University of Connecticut, Kahn was a two-time Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-America and All-Big East First Team honoree. She was named to the 2014 Tewaaraton Award preseason watch list. The award is given annually to the most outstanding American college men’s and women’s lacrosse players.
