Hall of Fame Alumni

The 2019-2020 academic year celebrated 40 Years of Women’s Athletics at Iona College. Five former standout female student-athletes were selected for induction into the Arrigoni Hall of Fame as the Class of 2020. Though the ceremony has been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Iona Athletics looks forward to celebrating the accomplishments on a quintet of individuals that left an indelible mark on their respective programs.

Aimee (Bryers) Alt ’03 – Swimming and Water Polo
An O’Connell Award Winner as Iona’s top senior female student-athlete in 2003, Alt was a dual-sport athlete in swimming and water polo for the Maroon & Gold. She held several school swimming records at the time of her graduation and was the program’s MVP as a junior and senior.

Kaitlin Kelley ’04 – Water Polo
One of the most prolific offensive players in school history, Kelly helped lead the Gaels to its first-ever MAAC Water Polo Championship. She was a two-time MAAC Offensive Player of the year, one of four student-athletes ever to earn multiple honors.

Emily Mansur ’05 – Volleyball
Mansur was a standout performer on the volleyball court for the Maroon & Gold. One of the most versatile performers ever to wear Maroon & Gold, she starred as a libero, as a hitter and most notably as a setter where she was named the 2004 MAAC Setter of the Year. Mansur quarterbacked the Gaels at the setter position to a MAAC Championship and NCAA Tournament appearance as a senior.

Erin (Whalen) McGee, Esq., ’99 – Rowing
The textbook definition of a student-athlete, McGee not only served as one of the top rowers in the program during her time at Iona, she remains the College’s first and only recipient of the prestigious Rhodes Scholarship from Oxford University. Among the many extra and co-curricular activities she took part in while a member of the Iona community, McGee was a campus minister and sports editor of The Ionian.

Jocelyn (Chapman) Vincent ’04 – Water Polo
Another dual-sport athlete from the pool in the 2020 induction class, Vincent starred for the Gaels in both water polo and swimming. A dynamic performer in water polo, she was one of the top defensive players in program history, recognized by a MAAC Defensive Player of the Year honor. She too helped lead the Maroon & Gold to its first-ever MAAC Championship in 2004.
