The Iona College men’s and women’s cross country programs both continued their “Rich Tradition of Excellence,” each capturing MAAC Championships this past October. The men extended NCAA Division I’s longest conference championship winning streak in any sport to 28 straight seasons while the women earned their third-straight and 13th title in the last 14 years. Individually, Liam Dee ’18 and Egle Morenaite ’21 were crowned Most Outstanding Performers for finishing first in their respective races. The two programs combined for six All-Region honorees at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships as the men earned second place and the women earned fifth as a team. Morenaite was joined by Ehab El-Sandali ’21, Jamie Dee ’22, Jack O’Leary ’21, Gemma Nuttall ’21 and Sophie Murphy ’21 on the list for their performances at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships. For the 18th straight season, the men’s program competed as a team in the NCAA Championship.
